Welcome to Show ME! Whippets & Custom Show Leads, etc. I am delighted to share a bit of information with you about my business and small kennel. First and foremost, my goal is to have happy clients, no matter how many times I may have to consult with you on an order to get your order perfect. It may take a bit longer, but I guarantee my products, period. I realize not everyone can be happy all of the time, and that some personalities just clash, and if I run into a case like that, I will try my hardest to please you, but if I cannot, I will be more than happy to refer you to someone who I think can.
With that said, I would like to let you know that I have been in the dog business in some way, shape, or form since 1988. I started out with Shelties, and lost my last one at the ripe old age of 16 two years ago February of 2007. I already had Buzz (a.k.a. Jaama's Aries), my first Whippet at the time, and was gearing up for my first National that April. BOY was that a sharp learning curve!!! The picture in the header is from the Nationals of Buzz and his brother Draco (a.k.a. Jaama's Draco) in the Brace class. Two 11 month old pups who had not seen each other since they were 8 weeks old! Needless to say, they didn't even place in the class, but it was a ton of fun for me and my daughter (She is the one running with them, Buzz is on the inside, and Draco is closest to the camera).
Upon returning home, I had TONS of orders from my eBay business, Show ME!, waiting to be filled! If I had known about all the free time we would have at the shows, I would have taken my supplies and sewing machines and filled orders there! I got to work, and continued to build my business that I had started as a fluke from a botched order in August of 2005.
The name Show ME! has nothing to do with the State of Missouri. I thought it was a cute way of speaking for the dogs who wanted to be shown. My goal was to provide quality show leads, collars, and bait bags at a decent cost to the other people like myself who, frankly, were sick and tired of paying twice the price for show leads that we knew we could find somewhere! I started selling and adding products, and all of those dogs and their owners from all over the World responded so well that I was able to purchase Buzz, two new sewing machines, the trip to Nationals, and several other things that I would never have been able to do had I not opened the store.
Now that I am not on eBay, I am a much happier person. I answer to myself. Choose which items I want to sell and/or make, and have much more free time to explore other interests, such as spending more time with my kids and dogs. We added another Whippet, Karasar's Gigi, after Nationals in late 2007.
I am a very small breeder. Gigi has had one litter that was a singleton after she aborted the rest. Connor (a.k.a. Karasar's Show ME a Miracle) was a complete surprise and a wonderful pup. We kept him until he was 6 months old, and realized he was not show quality. Placing him in a pet home was one of the hardest things I have had to do, but I know he is much better off. I have chosen to selectively breed Gigi one more time and we are expecting a litter in early July 2009. Buzz is the sire. I would have been showing him much more, however, a back injury has prevented me from doing so, and I am just now getting back to working on my leads and other products.
Feel free to take a look around the website. I will be working on it more over the next few weeks to bring it up to snuff. I am also taking a home study course, so I am keeping myself busy with the litter on the way. I have my second epidural injection for my back scheduled within the next two weeks, so I will have time to recuperate, study, and raise a litter! Please email me if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you!
